> Frida Kahlo the opened flesh Frieda Kahlo das offene Fleisch

Beschreibung:
" Frida Kahlo, the opened flesh" (portrait-homage of Frida Kahlo).
This highly expressionist and symbolist portrait of Frida Kahlo is a particular homage to the work of this engaged artist, suggesting a deep allegorical reflection on the strong social, feminist and identitarian symbolic message conveyed by her self-portraits, expressed by her personal identification with three fundamental symbols of the Mexican popular culture: "la Llorona" ("the weeping woman", the ghost of the mother who cries the loss of her children), "la Chingada" or "Malinche" (the forcible " opened " woman, deceived, abused, violated by the Conquistador Man) and "la Mascara" (the mask of the native crying his suffering).
Ink on special strong paper, 2009.
